mmm!

I really love the compostion you have in this one. It's very interesting and whimsical while slightly nostalgic. I can see some kind of faint memory in a forest with the sun setting and someone, a loved one of sorts, having to leave .....

you get a 10 for painting (no pun intended) a picture with your music.

GamekrazzyProduction responds:

thanks. :D that is almost exactly what I had in my mind when i made it, though it wasn't ment for anything of the sorts in the video game im making. lol. Thanks for commenting.

WOW

you did all of these on Mario Paint?! Respect just for the nerd/geek factor, Respect for the effort that must demand. If you can, I seriously reccomend looking into the FL Studio demo. It's surprisingly open for being a demo (everything is useable and exportable to mp3 from what I understand ...)

AS FOR THE SONG. It has all the classic elements and feel of an old FF game or secret of mana.

GamekrazzyProduction responds:

Thank you. And yeah im a fan of the Seiken Densetsu Series, which includes 1 final fantasy game and Secret of Mana. I am glad you liked it, too bad this song had to be approved, otherwise i would have got alot more critiques.

D

It has a nice composition. The opening feels a little empty at first; however, it does have a very strong first impression that keeps you listening. I liked the strings, they were a nice touch. In all honesty, I see a lot of potential in this loop. The only thing I can think of that holds it back is that its just a loop. maybe a little bit of a wetter reverb on the opening instrument ....

But for now, an enthusiastic 9/10.

GamekrazzyProduction responds:

hmm. I see where you going. Maybe a little more chord stucture in the beginning. Thanks for the info, i might just do that. Though because of how limited MPC is I might not be able to really turn it into a song. It is ment to be a loop though, as it is for my game. lol. Thanks again.

OH YEEEAH-YA

You had me at the Bass.

since you were focusing on your transitions on this, I will give attention to them.

I was impressed at 1:52 when you started glitching out the synth that was holding the attention and how smoothly you introduced the one the was playing on the beat. THAT caught my attention.

I liked the guitar you were playing with. I would have liked to have seen a litle more with that ^__^ oh wait, there it's back.

To say I am impressed is an understatement. I know that I personally fall in the trap of being afraid to jump around melody/beat-wise in my songs, so to not only go a bunch of different ways in a song BUT to make it feel cohesive with some direction (even if that direction is a bumpin' trance tune for it's own sake) ... I bow my hat to you sir.

Looking forward to more ^____^

Darren-M responds:

this song had almost zero form or structure lol, i just made what came out, what came next, it goes from a psytrance to a weird electro, to something more funky, totally wacky, which was what i wanted to give the impression of. instead of resisting that urge that says "hey add this part into the layer, but wait dont because it doesnt stick with the theme" i just ignored it and let my mind flow.

my favorite part comes in at 2:15ish with the string type synth that rides the highs.

thanks for the review

WOW *impressed*

You really went a different direction with this, didn't you. and gotta love the searching and self-seeking that these works come out of - and if this song is a reflection of that - then I am VERY happy for your behalf ^__^

That guitar is quite enchanting and I wish I could applaud you for it's composition, but I guess applauding you for even using it will have to do b/c it really adds to the song as a whole. Liked your use of a wind-synth. I would have liked to have seen the synth you used for your melody switched out halfway through the song with a more traditional instrument (a piano with a nice airy reverb and delay or some kind of wind. Like an ocarina)

But as is - excellent. very enjoyable and relaxing. nothing to complain of the composition nor sound quality (as always). keep 'em coming Darren : )

Darren-M responds:

i wish i had an ocarina instrument!

Very interesting

despite it's simplicity, you have plenty going on here and it's really very good. Tremendously ambient with a subconcious hyperactivity going on. Love the break down in the beginning. very well done. would like to see a little bit more of a melody, I think the Dark Piano with the Reverb2 thrown on it would sound pretty nice floating in and out throughout.

But other than that, really excellent piece. Reminds me of a video game I used to play ... just can't remember which. voted a 9 and a 5. I'll be checking out your other stuff shortly.

KingTornadoTalon911 responds:

My other stuff isn't how this sounds like...They were all regular pieces done by meh, with no work, and no modifications...prepare to be disappointed...
But, thanks for tha Response, Crave!!

MMMMhmmmm. That thar

is good stuff! Love it! Wasn't sure how I liked the lil' guitar solo in the beginning, but later came to appreciate why you made it the way you did. Truely superb!!! Thank you. I feel very honored!

Ritz190 responds:

:D yea! i kinda questioned it myself, but it sounded awesome afterward...the whole song is an accomplishment and i'm glad i found your song! glad you liked it too! :D

SHOO!

It opens with a hauntingly somber choir. very well (holy crap, the violin came in, good!) done on the choir. Wow, what can I say w/o expletives to explain my surprise! I am not a quarter in to this song and I've already decided its a 5. I am a sucker for the violin, cello (anything stringed).

You've done a good job at keeping this song variated. It doesn't get boring, nothing is distracting. Could go well in a boss battle. Seriously dude. Do you sit down after 3 hours of playing Perfect World and compose these songs. Your songs sound like a perfect blend of said game's boss tracks and the more melodic, serene world map songs.

If I could think of ONE reccomendation, it would have to be in the 2:12-2:36 section. This bridge of the song repeats later in the song, and the second time it repeats - I like it the way you have it. But I would like to see the first bridge made a little bit more subtle. At the 2:18 part, the notes change in a way to add a feel of tension, I felt that tension would work better saved for later, and the first 6 seconds of the bridge just be repeated 3 times and the tension coming in on the 4th meter. My theory being that if you went about it with my proposed way, that the tension would only be AMPED the second time the bridge section came around! But just my thoughts, I don't claim to be versed in making rock ^___^;

As the song started nearing the end, that violin came back in to grace us with it's story, and added a nice touch! A wonderful song! I hope you enjoy it, b/c a lot of ppl here at NGs (flamers aside) will be!

Ritz190 responds:

i can see where you're getting at and i totally agree! I'm going to improve on this song and i will consider you're critique...and actually i've been working on this off and on for a week. This song is one of my many long term projects that i'm doing..i could see this as a boss battle lol...i tried to add a sort of epic feel to it by adding the violin and cello. i love classical and metal, and this is the result of two loves...thanks man! glad you like the song! i put alot of heart into this and soon more heart when i improve it...THANKS MAN!!!

woah!

I love how this started and jumped right into the techno (tho personally it sounds much morelike trance to me)! That pad is sick! It needs a little EQing, but is still lovely. I'd love to see the full version of this if you don't mind. (I actually think I might wanna take a shot at the tune myself if I ever finish my current projects ^___^;)

Ritz190 responds:

ha! be my guest. your free to do what you want with it. i'll finish it, but after i finish all my other songs. thanks for your review! =D

GORGEOUS!

The song starts off on a strong foot, with a lovely, happy, hopeful chord on the piano. And as the song progresses it only gets better. The bongos are a touch that really adds to the feel and quality of the song. Makes me feel like I just started a new chapter in my life and have the universe's edge as my cieling! WOW! it just looped and I didn't even really notice! Love this way too much!

Really quality stuff here. I could hear this in a game or (dare I say it) some *quality* anime. Also sounds like it could be right out of Perfect World ... I am very impressed with this piece my new-friend. Feel free to critique my works as honestly as you want. I'll know it's input from someone who knows what he's doing!

Just a wonderful song. Can't NOT download this. Fav'd, 5'd and 10'd. lemme know when the "final" is up (tho honestly I am loving it even as is).

Ritz190 responds:

lol thanks man. There's alot i added to it while i'm still working on it, but i'm glad you like this. think of it as a book report to a novel that you haven't read yet. i always make songs that have some type of meaning to me, and i'm glad you can see that! thanks for the review man!

I have a message. A message I intended to deliver in a medium few have broadcasted it in before. Its nothing new, but the world must know. You must know.
