It goes in the Red, A LOT : (

add a compressor and/or limiter to that Kick and the song shouldn't go into the red so much. I am glad you added point 12, b/c I was about to say it doesn't have a lot of Trance elements except for the kick and arp that you added. Would have liked to have seen more percussive elements and some automations to play with everything. Automating a LP filter on the base would have helped. It is a little monotinous as is. I like the cooldown you have towards the end. Nicely placed and relaxing : ) From what I can tell, your EQ work is pretty decent - altho the kick is so overpowering that its hard to say : /

Overall, NOT BAD, but could do with some spit-shine. Keep it up bro. keep playing with nobs and parameters on the different synths, and look into downloading some VSTs when you get bored with the synth selection FL comes with. There is a WORLD of GOOD FREE synths out there. ok, not trying to advertise there. yeah. Let me know about future trance/techno/vg mixes you make and I'll try to review them : )

Darkfire96 responds:

Wow!
Thanks for the awesome review.
Thats what i forgot! I knew i left something.
As for the progress, this is just a WIP.
Im sorry about the kick, but i love my kicks overpowering.
Its a habit i should kick, i know :(. But My headphones are so epic in quality, i just cant help myself :). Ill check out some free synths here and there, but i want to experiment with sytrus before i get with that point. The Monotone comes from the bass i had. Im sorry, but i was in a hurry, so i couldnt ear out the bas on the origional. This is far from complete, believe me, but i thanks for the expert advice to help me now!
EDIT: I forgot to tell you, but the kick is like that because of the filter i used.

O C O

PLEASE FINISH THIS. SO AMAZING.

PrEmoEffect responds:

I wish I could, but I can't because I made it, but the files are corrupt. If it is really worth it though, I could try to salvage them, and work on the song.

WAOH!

Amazing start! Can't emphasize that enough. I am really impressed (and want to try this style now). at about the 1:30 transition, I wanted to hear a new element introduced. A vocal clip, a lead, something that would drive the song with a bit more melody. However, I was very happy at the 2:30ish transition with the pause. Very well done. The pad you used (beautiful btw) does feel a little Left heavy. would liked to have heard it pan over to the right every once and a while.

My second time through and I really noticed the vocally-owl (? ) effect that you used at the very start. I really love that and I would like to hear that (or something very similar with the same reverb) playing a sparse percussive role through the song OR the "oooooh" part of it played almost like a pad and sidechained (is sounding REALLY awesome in my head as I listen to what you have).

Sorry, I know that those are a lot of negatives, but there are TONS of positives. like I voted 5 for it, it's addictive and (very obviously) skillfully composed, it has a lot going on but manages not to sound cluttered AT ALL, I added it to my favorites (b/c I am comfortable saying that it has jumped into my top 10 of NGs songs), and it is just a few hairs short of being (in my personal opinion) a work of pure beauty and a perfect 10. Oh, and I downloaded it ^ u ^

In any case. THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this song. absolutely goregious and a true treat for the ears.

PrEmoEffect responds:

Thanks for the review. Actually, the negatives are what I need to improve, since it's more difficult to find negatives in your own music, unless you wait for a very very long time before listening to it again that is. I just started using Ableton (this is the first song), and its amazing. Once (if I have time) I can master the more advanced techniques possible with ableton (like vocal chopping), I will definately go there. Maybe, by the end of the year (senioritis :) ) I will get some MIDI controls so I can do more with automations, and make melodies more easilly.

I really like your idea about using the latter part of the owl sample for a pad effect. I might rework this and post it, but I can't do ANYTHING untill I can get some headphones (mine broke earlier, and its impossible to master anything with one ear).

This is by no means professional in production quality, but if you want to chat it out about some techniques, etc, feel free pm me. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

'_' my

you have a lot going on in this, and in a good way. I felt the song dragged in the first half, but I didn't dock you score-wise cuz I understand you lost x amount of the project. My sympathies. That always sucks. The last half, however, I enjoyed. In parts, it felt nostalgic of some spyro the dragon levels : ) brownie points : )

keep up the music. You have me interested, so I am gonna check out some of your other stuff.

Tykwa responds:

Thanks for the review, Good luck finding something else you like from me! xD (Hurrhurr :P)

not a bad start

a couple things I would like to see, tho. I would like to see some reverb on your synth. Also, your synth is a little lonely (esp in the beginning). I would be interested to hear this with the bass in. Also, I think you are going to need to bring the volume on your lead synth once you intro a bass, b/c its a little loud as it is ...

I liked the percussion. Keep building on what you have you you will have something pretty good : )

7 because it's a preview.

keioss01 responds:

thx, i just finished the track..

i hope u like it.

Very bity

I like the theme you have going here. It's a fun little loop. Nice progression, indeed. Sounds like it could go well in some upgraded cross-over between a mario-land meets earthbound game. Good job!

kjhsdgf responds:

two games i enjoy very much, sir.
i am happy to hear this.

pretty fun.

wow, really? I am impressed that a lot of what I am hearing is 3x & WASP.

Nice vocals. You have nice use of builds, I don't hear anything going in the red or conflicting with anything else, so kudos on the production to both of you!

If i was to give one critique, I would have to say that there are places where for me, the "oh-OOH" overshadows everything else that is going on. And I would reduce the reverb on her voice just a smidgin' IMO once she starts singing the more lyrical parts of the song.

But that's just me, and what you have here IS really good. Keep it up you guys!

XotiK responds:

Hey thanks for the review. Means a lot. Also thanks for the critique. I'll keep it in mind next time.

WOW!

I definetly noticed RIGHT AWAY that this was no Mario Paint!

And it's not bad either! Nice and relaxing. love the stream. Keep fiddlin with FL. Check out tutorials on Youtube and you can learn how to do a lot with it. And FL's potential REALLY opens up once you grab some VSTs, but I am not sure if the demo will support them- but I can't imagine that it wouldn't.

looking forward to more!

GamekrazzyProduction responds:

Hey thanks, I wish I actually knew what I was doing with FL-Studio though.

@TheHumanElement01

no, it would make you a masocist.

It hurts my ears too, but thats not as much of a positive ...

I liked the little break down towards the end. If I was voting out of preference this would have a low score, but I am giving you a 7 out of respect for the work that I can tell is in here, the little break down. The repetition is the only thing holding this back in my opinion.

But keep making what you like. There will be people that enjoy it as much as you do.

AtomEq responds:

haha, I accually didnt spend that much time on it, It was sort of a joke, im surprised people even like it at all. Just for you I will make a really good version soon.

Got a solid 5 from me

And I'll try and give you some 5-rain in the coming days.

Nice beat and vocals. Well EQ'd. Nice Production overall.

oh, and kudos to you for knowing what you love and not lettin haters get you down! Keep it up ^____^

AisareneMusic responds:

Thank you so much, I really appreciate this. And thanks, this song took...2 years? Between myself and my producer, that is.

I have a message. A message I intended to deliver in a medium few have broadcasted it in before. Its nothing new, but the world must know. You must know.
