PLEASE FINISH THIS. SO AMAZING.
I wish I could, but I can't because I made it, but the files are corrupt. If it is really worth it though, I could try to salvage them, and work on the song.
WAOH!
Amazing start! Can't emphasize that enough. I am really impressed (and want to try this style now). at about the 1:30 transition, I wanted to hear a new element introduced. A vocal clip, a lead, something that would drive the song with a bit more melody. However, I was very happy at the 2:30ish transition with the pause. Very well done. The pad you used (beautiful btw) does feel a little Left heavy. would liked to have heard it pan over to the right every once and a while.
My second time through and I really noticed the vocally-owl (? ) effect that you used at the very start. I really love that and I would like to hear that (or something very similar with the same reverb) playing a sparse percussive role through the song OR the "oooooh" part of it played almost like a pad and sidechained (is sounding REALLY awesome in my head as I listen to what you have).
Sorry, I know that those are a lot of negatives, but there are TONS of positives. like I voted 5 for it, it's addictive and (very obviously) skillfully composed, it has a lot going on but manages not to sound cluttered AT ALL, I added it to my favorites (b/c I am comfortable saying that it has jumped into my top 10 of NGs songs), and it is just a few hairs short of being (in my personal opinion) a work of pure beauty and a perfect 10. Oh, and I downloaded it ^ u ^
In any case. THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this song. absolutely goregious and a true treat for the ears.
Thanks for the review. Actually, the negatives are what I need to improve, since it's more difficult to find negatives in your own music, unless you wait for a very very long time before listening to it again that is. I just started using Ableton (this is the first song), and its amazing. Once (if I have time) I can master the more advanced techniques possible with ableton (like vocal chopping), I will definately go there. Maybe, by the end of the year (senioritis :) ) I will get some MIDI controls so I can do more with automations, and make melodies more easilly.
I really like your idea about using the latter part of the owl sample for a pad effect. I might rework this and post it, but I can't do ANYTHING untill I can get some headphones (mine broke earlier, and its impossible to master anything with one ear).
This is by no means professional in production quality, but if you want to chat it out about some techniques, etc, feel free pm me. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
hate how much weight 0&1 votes have
versus a 4 or 5 vote >: (
anyways. I enjoyed the song! : ) I liked the builds you had here. the only thing I really would have liked to have seen would have been a melody playing in the verses - a guitar or a plucky string I think might fit nice.
Opening was a little fuzzy and erratic, but I understand you opened with a frame of the song and built it into the song - so it works. tho you'll loose a lot of listeners in the first couple seconds b/c of its innitial sound of disregard for bar or tempo : ( but that's their bad, not yours : ) also turn down the volume of your bass-pad just a hair (or and a limiter to it). I think that that will let a lot more little nuances that you have going on shine in their place : )
Great work dood! keep me posted on this and future works please : )

not gonna lie, halfway thru this, I wanted to hear this go into some trance :)
very laid back and relaxing.
'_' my
you have a lot going on in this, and in a good way. I felt the song dragged in the first half, but I didn't dock you score-wise cuz I understand you lost x amount of the project. My sympathies. That always sucks. The last half, however, I enjoyed. In parts, it felt nostalgic of some spyro the dragon levels : ) brownie points : )
keep up the music. You have me interested, so I am gonna check out some of your other stuff.
Thanks for the review, Good luck finding something else you like from me! xD (Hurrhurr :P)
mmm : )
I'll be honest, I am not much of one to listen to hip-hop, but my ear fancies this. Excellent EQ work, I can't hear anything that clashes sonically. I like the play between your bass and the plucky string and the reverb on said string. very relaxing to me :) Would be interested in hearing this as a full length song. But excellent as is!
not a bad start
a couple things I would like to see, tho. I would like to see some reverb on your synth. Also, your synth is a little lonely (esp in the beginning). I would be interested to hear this with the bass in. Also, I think you are going to need to bring the volume on your lead synth once you intro a bass, b/c its a little loud as it is ...
I liked the percussion. Keep building on what you have you you will have something pretty good : )
7 because it's a preview.
Very bity
I like the theme you have going here. It's a fun little loop. Nice progression, indeed. Sounds like it could go well in some upgraded cross-over between a mario-land meets earthbound game. Good job!
two games i enjoy very much, sir.
i am happy to hear this.
pretty fun.
wow, really? I am impressed that a lot of what I am hearing is 3x & WASP.
Nice vocals. You have nice use of builds, I don't hear anything going in the red or conflicting with anything else, so kudos on the production to both of you!
If i was to give one critique, I would have to say that there are places where for me, the "oh-OOH" overshadows everything else that is going on. And I would reduce the reverb on her voice just a smidgin' IMO once she starts singing the more lyrical parts of the song.
But that's just me, and what you have here IS really good. Keep it up you guys!
Hey thanks for the review. Means a lot. Also thanks for the critique. I'll keep it in mind next time.
WOW!
I definetly noticed RIGHT AWAY that this was no Mario Paint!
And it's not bad either! Nice and relaxing. love the stream. Keep fiddlin with FL. Check out tutorials on Youtube and you can learn how to do a lot with it. And FL's potential REALLY opens up once you grab some VSTs, but I am not sure if the demo will support them- but I can't imagine that it wouldn't.
looking forward to more!
Hey thanks, I wish I actually knew what I was doing with FL-Studio though.
I have a message. A message I intended to deliver in a medium few have broadcasted it in before. Its nothing new, but the world must know. You must know.
